The story behind the art

A random watercolor shape is created using various tools and techniques, such as brushes, a straw for blowing, a sponge, and splashes. A drawing then emerges, accompanied by a message rendered in carbon ink.
In this series, Coco explores her appearance and sense of belonging in society or among her loved ones. She raises questions about the masks we wear — which sometimes grant access to opportunities, allow us to be tolerated, or offer protection — about what lies beneath, and about the perception we project as we shift from a masked to an unmasked state (and all the shades in between).
Are we the sum of these shifting identities? Or is there, among all these variations, a version that defines who we truly are? Should we seek it out, strive toward it, or, 
on the contrary, cultivate a multitude of versions to better protect ourselves in all circumstances?
