"The bird lost its feathers and became a tree" is an artwork about overcoming, growing and saying goodbye to who we once were. The poster is meant as an encouragement, an affirmation, an acknowledgement for all te hardships we go through. This sweet, whimsical bird art carries lots of light within it.
Each art print has been carefully printed by myself on museum-quality paper with archival ink (giclée). This technique allows for perfect color vibrancy and makes each print look just as gorgeous as an original. Treated well, it will last more than a lifetime!

The artist
Hi, I'm Coco, an autistic artist. Inspired by my own complex mental health journey towards unlearning shame, this watercolor bird illustration symbolizes my (very) slow and patient healing from trauma. A journey in which one transforms and takes new shapes, a journey of permanent adaptation. I hope my bird art can encourage others on a journey that is sometimes unforgiving. Thank you for supporting my independent business 🌻
Story behind the art
(printed on a card and sent with each print)
Resilience is ambivalent. It’s the positive strength we draw from all the hardships. Which also means having gone through all the hardships in the first place. "The bird lost its feathers and became a tree" acknowledges both things: the thicker skin, the stoicism, the stability, the rooting... And also the loss of feathers and the inability to fly, maybe ever again. But we’re still here and the wind will keep brushing through our leaves, filling us with the vital energy we need to go on with, while we integrate all the new variables brought by change.

Attention to detail
Every print order is meant to be a delight to unwrap! Coco inspects, cuts, protects and packages all your orders with much care and love. She uses fully recyclable (and when possible, directly recycled) materials. All the prints are vegan.
The finest materials
Each piece is digitally printed by the artist herself with a technique called giclée, capturing the essence and vibrancy of her art. She sourced only materials from manufacturers replying to the highest standards of the industry, such as Hahnemühle. Archival pigment ink on museum grade (ISO 9706), acid-free and lignin-free paper allow each print, if treated well, to last a lifetime.
